Got a new phone? Good news—you can transfer your TextNow service in just a few steps! As long as your new device is GSM-compatible, there’s no need to reactivate your SIM. Just move it over, adjust a few settings, and you’re good to go. You can use our device checker to find out if your new device is compatible.
How to transfer your SIM to a new device
- Download the TextNow app on your new device and log into your account
- Remove your SIM card from your old device
- Insert your SIM card into your new device (you may need to use a different SIM card size)
- Set the APN settings on your new device (you can learn how to do so by checking out our guide here)
What to do if your phone is lost or stolen
Losing your phone is stressful, but don’t worry—you can secure your TextNow account and get back up and running in no time, just follow these steps:
- Change your password to prevent anyone from accessing your account
- Log out of all devices by going to your account/profile settings in the TextNow app or website
- Order a replacement SIM card if your phone is lost with your TextNow SIM inside, you can order a new SIM here
- Use another device to log into your TextNow account to keep calling and messaging over Wi-Fi in the meantime
- Follow the steps above to transfer your new SIM to another device when it arrives
